Treasurer Vacancy
Hello AoA members,
I wanted to inform you of the results of the nominations, strawpoll, and the determination of the treasurer position. Please pardon the length and complexity of these events. During the nomination period, Allen Lopez was the only member to receive a nomination. Terry Guidry was the nomination chairman that verified Allen's acceptance. Being that Allen was the only person to receive a nomination, he became the treasurer immediately at the conclusion of nominations. We noticed many members seamed confused, or assumed that current board members got an automatic nomination. This is not how our nominations work, but the board decided to address the issue and let the club make a decision.
The strawpoll result was that Darwin would not proceed to an election with Allen. After the strawpoll, the board reached back out to Allen to confirm his acceptance, which he has since decided to decline. This has left the position of treasurer open.
We the board have the duty to fill any vacancies and will very soon.
